~Scott O'Brien (01/22/03)

We grew up through school together, and had lots of classes together. Bruce was kind, gentle, funny, and a wonderful friend. After graduation we would see each other at the Depot Restaurant. I am so sorry for the loss.
~Anne Payne (01/23/03)

It was great working with Bruce at the Depot, and some years later, having him as a brother in law. A wonderful person, and gentleman. He will always be in my heart.
~Don Heher (01/23/03)

I lived with Darnell during the mid 1980's and got to know Bruce really well. I hadn't seen him in many years but heard of his passing through my friend at Blue Ridge Seafood. This website is a wonderful tribute and brought back fond memories of those years. My thoughts and prayers are with the famly at this time.

My deepest sympathy to all who knew and loved him. My fondest memories are of homemade chocolate chip cookies, naps, and the movie "It's A Wonderful Life". I know you have your wings now. You will be missed dearly. God bless and keep you.
~Kimberly Barron (01/24/03)

Oh, my heart is broken, he was a very good friend to me during a time of grief and loss from 1983, when I lost my 3 year son, until I moved away in 1996. Every time I came back to town or ran into Bruce somewhere unexpected he always had a nice big tight hug and a smile, he never forgot me as time passed by. We have so many guardian angels in heaven from our area. My sincere sympathy to the family I knew in high school and got to know through Bruce. He will truly be missed.
~Karen Wise (Glascock) Bussing (01/24/03)

May God give you the strength to endure your loss. With our deepest sympathy - Vern & Anita

Bruce was a very good friend to me when I needed one. I simply can't believe he's gone. My deepest sympathies to his family and other friends. I love you forever Bruce. Emily scott@bernaltech.com

It was truly an honor to know Bruce. He was a lot of fun and always had a smile on his face. I'll never forget when he and I would dance together at Napoleon's back in the 80's. He danced just like Fred Astaire! To the Lunceford family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. May Bruce's spirit be with you at all times.
~Mary Pulliam Davis (01/25/03)

I was/am stunned to learn that Bruce has passed away. I've known him since the 70's, and will miss him very much. As others have said and those who know him are aware, he was a wonderful spirit. When he lived in San Fran in the mid 80's I visited with him for several weeks while I was on an extended motorcycle tour of the USA. He was a gracious and caring host, even setting me up with my own apartment to use while there. He always contacted me before, during or after work, and made sure I was comfy and needs taken care of. He was a great tour guide, and we had a blast together during that period. I think we both really appreciated having a Warrentoner to hang with so far from "home". I will hold his memory close to my heart til I too pass and we meet again. You're a good egg, Bruce - Bless You. My sincere condolences go out to his family and to those who are now missing him and struggling with his passing. One more thing comes to mind, I went to school with his older brother Lawrence and I recall Bruce as being in the role of older brother when he was in fact, the younger. He looked out for Lawrence, as he knew he should, and that's just one example of who Bruce was. Love, Thommy
~Thommy Tolson (01/25/03)

I knew Bruce most of my life. Even though went didn't see each other much as life went on, when we did run into each other it was as if we'd just seen each other yesterday. He will really be missed.
~Bill Nelson; Class of '79 (01/26/03)

I used to play volley ball and party with Bruce back about Summer of 1984. I didn't know him real well, but we would always talk about the good old days when I saw him @ the Depot & Old Town Cafe. He sure was a nice guy. My Pray's to the family and I'm sure everyone will miss him.

I knew Bruce through Cardinal painting. He use to work at my office in McLean and Reston. What a character. He was a funny guy. I just learned of his passing recently. Needless to say I was shocked. I always wondered what had happened to him. He is one of those characters you will never forget. Rest in peace Bruce

Bruce, Happy Birthday! See, I didn't forget at all.... Not everyone's been lucky enough to have had a brother like you. Your sense of humor and your easygoing nature added so much to our times together. Others may be lucky enough to have been able to call you a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker, etc., but I'm so proud to be able to call you a brother.
~Your Sister, Brenda (12/02/03)
